I have a friend who keeps a family blog. She logs in about once a week, posts pictures, and writes about what is going on in her family. At the end of the year, she sends her entire blog to a site that takes everything and puts it into a nice book. In a sense she is creating a digital record of her family. I think it is great-for her.
As for me-I am still not convinced blogging has a place in my life or career. I am not sure I like the idea that anyone can read what I write for one thing. I suppose I still have not created a purpose for doing this other than as a class assignment. I am glad I am trying it out, but for some reason I am not connecting with this form of communication. I think I would rather create a group email list and send out information via email rather than post it on my blog.
What am I missing here?
You can make your blog private. You can make it so you have to "invite" readers who then have to login to view your page. I created mine when I had my first born. It was a nice way to keep my long distance family up to date with stories and pictures. Blogging isn't for everyone but I think its awesome that you are checking it out!!!! (p.s. I'm in this class...quite-frankly is my blog...but using my other account to comment:))
ReplyDeleteCertainly blogs don't fit everyone or everything. However, you may keep your options open for a little longer and think how you may share information about counseling with peers around the country via a blog, or use it in a class where students could ask questions about how to adjust to the American culture.
ReplyDeleteUltimately it's fine that you blog after this class.
